Ramanujar, born Ramanudu Venkateswara Rao, is an Indian film director, actor and producer who works mainly in Telugu cinema and as an actor in Tamil cinema. He started his career in the 1970s and made box office hits like Krishnaveni, Sirivennela, Premabhishekam, Gud bargaraju and C.I.D. police etc.

He joined the Bharat Ka Bhagya (BKB) group and started off as an actor in the 1970s, and then as a director and producer. He chose his screen name from Ramanujars famous poem the Sri Ramananda Sita Ramula Katha, and also later used his screen name for his film career. He relaunched his Bharat Kavi in the 2011 film, and later became the President of Bharat Kavi Samaj (BKB) in 2017. The Bharat Kavi is a Telugu daily that primarily addresses the topics of environmentalism and ecology.

In 2013, the mega budget film, Hare Rama Hare Krishna was released. With over a billion collections, this film is the highest grossing film of all time both in Telugu and worldwide.
